The Archbishop Wood Vikings (High School) have 2 basketball Gyms, basically a boys gym and a girls gym. They both use the "Viking" as their mascot for the school. However, the girls sports teams are called the "Lady Vikings", and I felt the image on the basketball center court should have a suitable "female" viking, instead of the male version they currently have. So, this is an original illustration, a "female" counterpart to the traditional "male" viking.

Design Firehouse Cookbook for Pepcid
This recipe/cookbook, part of a grassroots promotional campaign, utilized local firehouses and their own recipes to populate the content. Pepcid, as a sponsor, wanted to showcase these local firehouses and "hot" recipes, showcasing the great food collections and implying Pepcid can handle any "fire". Books were given away at events, food fairs and also sold at retail with profits going to local firehouses. The books also contained stories of local firemen, hero spotlights, recipes and coupons. It was a pretty cool merging of a retail brand and "feelgood" local community content.

Random Design of the Day
This was designed for Castrol Motor Oil, and was a promotional logo for a mechanic's challenge contest - Teams were assembled to see who could build the most powerful engine in a short period of time. Using Castrol Syntec Oil, of course. Online, print and TV usage.

Designing T-shirts for sports and for schools
I can't stand seeing lousy school t-shirts.
Especially when shirts are sold at events or school sports games, to raise money. Usually, some random print shop "designs" a shirt from a book for you. Guaranteed, they'll get a piece of clip art form the 80's, and use Brush Casual™ font, usually all capitals, and voila! School Shirt!
The schools then wonder why nobody buys them. As a designer, it drives me crazy...but I think I have design issues. My feeling is, if you're paying for, and making a shirt, make it something special that somone may actually want to purchase, and a wearer may actually wear. So, at every opportunity I can, I try to design shirts for organizations I am in contact with. So here's a few I've done, mostly donating my time to school and local organizations.
When my daughter's Archbishop Wood Girls Basketball team won the Pennsylvania State Championships, I designed a shirt for the school, which was sold at Modells, and at school events, to help raise money for the Basketball program.
Girls Volleyball shirt design for the Lady Vikings.
Philadelphia Belles Girls AAU BAsketball US Junior Nationals championship shirts.
FENCOR Girls Basketball Invitational Tournament shirt.
Council Rock Girls Soccer practice/school soccer shirt.
Lenape Valley PA, Running Rebels Championship Shirt.
Several local baseball Championship/Tournament shirts.

A fun 404 page
I made this 404 page for a friend of mine, who has his own SEO company, www.searchenginesmarketer.com. We are both Superhero nerds, so it was fitting to be able to sneak a little fun deep in the site. Unfortunately, it's a page nobody will ever see unless they totally get lost on the site.
